To be as a coral reef, it has to be living. The problem today is a lot of coral reefs are dying or being destroyed Coral reefs are groups of living organisms and minerals. Over time, this living collection forms formations on the ocean floor. Sometimes these formations are and sometimes they extend like a very long table. You might wonder why we should care. Well, without coral reefs a lot of sea life would disappear. Sadly, coral reefs are being destroyed because of fishing. Fishermen sometimes use tools that scrape the ocean floor and these tools rip coral reefs right off. Also, pollution is making the of our ocean water too unhealthy for coral to survive in.
