  • Prov. 17:20~28

20  He who has a deceitful heart finds no good,
       And he who has a perverse tongue falls into evil.
21  He who begets a scoffer does so to his sorrow,
      And the father of a fool has no joy.
22  A merry heart does good, like medeicine,
      But a broken spirit dries the bones.
23  A wicked man accepts a bribe behind the back
      To pervert the ways of justice.
24  Wisdom is in the sight of him who has understanding,
      But the eyes of a fool are on the ends of the earth.
25  A foolish son is a grief to his father,
      And bitterness to her who bore him.
26  Also, to punish the righteous is not good,
      Nor to strike princes for their uprightness.
27  He who has knowlege spares his words,
       And a man of understanding is of a calm spirit.
28  Even a fool is counted wise when he holds his peace;
       When he shuts his lips, he is considered perceptive.

  • Prov. 17:11~19

11  An evil man seeks only rebellion;
      Therefore a cruel messenger will be sent against him.
12  Let a man meet a bear robbed of her cubs,
      Rather than a fool in his folly.
13  Whoever rewards evil for good,
      Evil will not depart from his house.
14  The beginning of strife is like releasing water;
      Therefore stop contention before a quarrel starts.
15  He who justifies the wicked, and he who condemns the just,
      Both of them alike are an abomination to the Lord.
16  Why is there in the hand of a fool the purchase price of wisdom,
      Since he has no heart for it?
17  A friend loves at all times,
      And a brother is born for adversity.
18  A man devoid of understanding shakes hands in a pledge,
      And becomes surety for his frined.
19  He who loves transgression loves strife,
      And he who exalts his gate seeks destruction.

  • Prov. 17:1~10

1   Better is a dry morsel with quietness,
     Than a house full of feasting with strife
2   A wise servant will rule over a son who causes shame,
     And will share an inheritance among the brothers
3   The refining pot is for silver and the furnance for gold,
     But the Lord tests the hearts.
4   And evildoer gives heed to false lips;
    A liar listens eagerly to a spiteful tongue.
5   He who mocks the poor reproaches his Maker;
     He who is glad at calamity will not go unpunished.
6   Children's children are the crown of old men,
     And the glory of children is their father.
7   Excellent speech is not becoming to a fool,
     Much less lying lips to a prince.
8   A persent is a precious stone in the eyes of its possessor;
     Wherever he turns, he prospers.
9   He who covers a transgression seeks love,
     But he who repeats a matter separates friends.
10  Rebuke is more effective for a wise man
     Than a hundred blows on a fool.

  • Isaiah 35

1  The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them,
    And the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose;
2  It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice,
    Even with joy and singing.
    The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it,
    The excellence of Carmel and Sharon.
    They shall see the glory of the Lord,
    The excellency of our God.
3  Strengthen the weak hands,
    And make firm the feeble knees
4  Say to those who are fearful-hearted,
    "Be strong, do not fear!
    Behold, your God will come with vengeance,
    With the recompense of God;
    He will come and save you."
5  Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened,
    And the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
6  The the lame shall leap like a deer,
    And the tongue of the dumb sing.
    For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness,
    And streams in the desert.
7  The parched ground shall become a pool,
    And the thirsty land springs of water;
    In the habitation of jackals, where each lay,
    There shall be grass with reeds and rushes.
8  A highway shall be there, and a road,
    And it shall be called the Highway of Holiness.
    The unclean shall not pass over it,
    But it shall be for others.
    Whoever walks the road, although a fool,
    Shall not go astray.
9  No lion shall be there,
    Nor shall any ravenous beast to up on it;
    it shall not be found there.
    But the redeemed shall walk there,
10  And the ransomed of the Lord shall return
      And come to Zion with singing,
      With everlasting joy on thier heads.
      They shall obtain joy and gladness,
      Andsorrow and sighing shall flee away.

15  And the Lord said to me, "Next, take for yourself the implements of a foolish shepherd.  16  For indeed I will raise up a shepherd in the land who will not care for those who are cut off, nor seek the young, nor heal those that are broken, nor feed those that still stand.  But he will eat the fat and tear their hooves in pieces.

17  "Woe to the worthless shepherd,
     Who leaves the flock!
     A sword shall be against his arm
     And against his right eye;
     His arm shall completely wither,
     And his right eye shall be totally blinded."

Psalm 91
1    He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2    I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust."
3    Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from teh perilous pestilence.
4    He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
5    You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day,
6    Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noon day.
7    A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you.
8    Only with your eyes shall you look, and see the reward of wicked.
9    Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place,
10   No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
11   For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.
12   In thier hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.
13    YOu shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.
14    "Becasue he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, becasue he has known My name.
15   He hsall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.
16   With long life I will satifty him, ans show him My salvation."

  • James 2:8~2:13

8   If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, "you shall love your neighbor as yourself," you do well;  9   But if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors.  10   For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.  11   For He who said, " Do not commit adultery,"  also said, "Do not murder."  Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.  12   So speak and so do as those who will be judged by the law of liberty.  13   For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy.  Mercy triumphs over judgment.

[mercy triumphs over judgment]
yes!  besides having judgment in mind, mercy is the most important overall!!

[mercy triumphs over judgment]

John 1
1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2  He was in the beginning with God.
3  All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
4  In Him was life and the life was the light of men.
5  And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

12 "Now, therefore," says the Lord,
      Turn to Me with all your heart,
      With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning."
13  So rend your heart, and not your garments;
      Return to the Lord your God,
      For He is gracious and merciful,
      Slow to anger, and of great kindness;
      And He relents from doing harm.
14 Who knows if He will turn and relent,
     And leave a blessing behind Him-
     A grain offering and a drink offering
     For the Lord your God?
